Citrix XenApp is primarily an application virtualization tool, but it also supports session-based virtual desktops. XenDesktop includes all the XenApp functionality, but it also provides a fully scalable VDI platform. Organizations can deploy XenApp or XenDesktop on premises, with a service provider, on a cloud-based platform or through the Citrix Cloud.
