Storage is a big part of the VMworld conference and I had a chance to talk with a number of storage companies at the 2019 VMworld. This piece talks about what I saw at this year’s show.
NetApp introduced a number of products to support virtualized storage infrastructure. They debuted the NetApp HCI for VDI virtual desktop solution for VMware Horizon 7, shown below. They also announced NetApp Kubernetes Service (NKS) and HCI implementation services for VMware Private Cloud. According to NetApp NKS eliminates and reduces the complexity of deploying and managing on-premises Kubernetes clusters and their application workload, delivering enterprise capabilities such as in-place upgrades, role-based access control (RBAC), application lifecycle management, multicloud and hybrid-cloud configurations, and Istio service mesh automation.
