Oracle opens new cloud service data centre in Tokyo

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure has launched its Tokyo Region to support some of the countryā€™s biggest companies. Oracle said the new cloud region addresses the needs for high performance, security, resiliency and local data residency that Japanese organisations require to ā€œincrease cloud adoption with confidenceā€.

Andrew Reichman, Oracle director of product management, said of the opening: ā€œJapan is one of the counties in which weā€™ve built trust over years of adoption by the biggest domestic organisations. To further support customers there, weā€™ve opened an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data centre region in Tokyo, which is now ready for customer use.ā€
