While we (the tech industry) tend to talk about devices, on-premises servers, and cloud computing as if they are individual platforms, in reality, they are a single hybrid platform that works together over vast public and private networks. Every platform from the smartphone to the largest data centers are part of a hybrid computing environment.
Now, companies are rushing to take advantage of the flexibility and cost advantages by leveraging a combination of on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud resources in a hybrid fashion.
